ABOUT
SHARON AYDLETTE
The Tenacious Tart

Born and raised in South Carolina, I have been baking since 1st grade.
I watched my mom and grandmother bake family favorites. I joined in any chance I could.
Fast forward, I enrolled in the Pastry Arts program at Delgado College in New Orleans, Louisiana.
After graduating in 2013, I became the pastry chef for Apolline the same year, and never looked back!
I came home to Charleston and started selling my cakes and desserts at a local farmers market on James Island. I am a "bootstrap" business.I saved up $300 from the sales and started The Tenacious Tart. I now work from my
in-home cake studio, offering artisan wedding cakes, celebration cakes, and desserts. I incorporate fresh, local, organic ingredients whenever possible. I have been featured twice in Post & Courier for my business, The Tenacious Tart, and been recognized as a local female chef.
Sunday evenings are reserved for family and our weekly meal at my mother's house. We sing and play silly games. And yes, I usually bring dessert.
